Vancouver Horror Nights (VHN) – A Haunting Farewell

It is with a sense of melancholy that we report the unfortunate closure of Vancouver Horror Nights, an iconic haunt that graced the spooky season in Vancouver. Originating in 2020 out of a need for alternative entertainment during COVID-19 restrictions, VHN quickly became a local favorite, taking residence in the infamous Giggle Dam Dinner Theatre, known for its rumored hauntings.

From its eerie inception, Vancouver Horror Nights carved a niche for itself, presenting a spine-chilling haunted house that transcended the ordinary. The success of its inaugural years in 2020 and 2021 spoke volumes, with sold-out nights and glowing reviews underscoring its exceptional allure.

In 2022, VHN ventured into new, larger quarters at Coquitlam Centre, aiming to deliver an even more immersive and thrilling experience. However, the City of Coquitlam's bureaucratic hurdles, including perplexing regulations and persistent delays, cast a shadow over the haunt's prospects. Despite these challenges, VHN managed to open its doors three weeks into October, showcasing a dedication that defined its spirit.

The haunting tales spun within the mazes and attractions resonated deeply with the community, creating an unforgettable impact on Vancouver's Halloween traditions. The management and creative teams at VHN poured their hearts into crafting a unique and captivating experience, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the community.

Regrettably, the final curtain descended on November 5, 2022, marking the end of an era for Vancouver Horror Nights. The closure comes as a blow not just to the haunt enthusiasts but also to the community that embraced VHN as a hallmark of its Halloween festivities.

This haunting journey, though concluded for now, leaves an indelible mark on the memories of those who ventured into its chilling embrace. The eerie corridors, the spine-tingling performances, and the electrifying atmosphere – all contributed to making Vancouver Horror Nights an indispensable part of the local haunt scene.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable haunt, we reflect on the joy and excitement it brought to the community. While Vancouver Horror Nights may have closed its doors, the echoes of its scares and thrills will linger in the collective memory of those who dared to step into its dark embrace.
